Established in 2010 and officially registered in 2015, Maha Goa Notaries Association is the largest collective of over 17,000 notary advocates across Maharashtra and Goa. We are a committed platform championing the rights, recognition, and professional advancement of notary advocates.

We are not just an association — we are a movement.

Our Major Accomplishments

1. Withdrawal of the Notaries (Amendment) Bill, 2021

  • The Central Government had proposed to discontinue license renewal after 15 years of service.
  • In December 2024, the Association met Union Law Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal and ensured the bill’s withdrawal.
  • This historic intervention secured the future of thousands of senior notaries across India.

2. Resolution of Long-Pending License Renewals

  • The case of Adv. Ashwini Shah, whose renewal was delayed for over 1.5 years, was resolved through persistent follow-up.
  • The Association has quietly facilitated thousands of such renewals, without seeking publicity.

3. Action Against Unauthorized Legal Practices

  • Raised a strong voice against xerox centers and unauthorized entities preparing legal documents on stamp paper.
  • Continues to advocate strict enforcement to safeguard the dignity and exclusivity of the legal profession.
